The forum featuring the iOme Challenge winners will take place in Washington DC on Thursday, June 20, 2024. The forum will be held virtually if COVID-19 restrictions require it.

Are teams required to participate in the forum?
Yes, we ask that all or at least most of the team members be available to participate in the forum. Winners in previous years have said this experience was the best part of participating in the iOme Challenge.

Are travel costs paid for?
If the forum is held as an in-person event in 2022, a travel stipend will be provided to cover some costs, but please note that it may not cover all travel expenses depending on the size of the team. In the event the forum is held virtually due to Covid-19, no stipend for travel will be provided.

What is the team’s role in the forum?
The winning team will participate in a panel at the forum that will include team members and 1-2 moderators. It is more of an informal, moderated discussion than a formal presentation. The team will provide a ten minute overview of their essay and will discuss how it addresses the challenges outlined in the question. The moderators will then lead a discussion and Q&A with the audience.
